Matrixx™, by Nexxspan Healthcare™, is Installed in Innova Fairfax Hospital NICU
FALLS CHURCH, VA – Nexxspan™ Healthcare, LLC announces installation of the Matrixx™ vertical headwall in Innova Fairfax Hospital’s new Women’s and Children’s tower. The units were integrated into the facility’s newly expanded neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The Matrixx™ vertical headwall system has an evidence-based design and meets the applicable recommended design standards outlined in the Journal of Perinatology. NICU design has changed drastically over the past 25 years. A consensus conference, made up of various clinical, educational and architectural specialists, is held periodically to review the formal design guidelines of the NICU. The eighth edition of these guidelines, The Recommended Design Standards of the NICU and the Physical Environment of the NICU, was published in 2013.
Matrixx™ was purposefully designed to meet the guidelines of a headwall system in the NICU environment for improved neonatal development. This system features dimmable ambient lighting as well as sound deflecting and sound absorbing properties. The headwall works well in an open bay environment or in single family patient rooms. The Matrixx™ also enables the staff to create a unique clinical environment for each patient through the use of integrated equipment rails and poles with multiple gas and electrical outlets throughout the system. Equipment can be placed and relocated to meet the unique needs of each patient and helps to keep the floor space clear.
