OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center Installs Matrixx-M™ Headwalls In New NICU

Oregon Health and Science University Health announced the opening of the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital NICU at Hillsboro Medical Center (formerly Tuality Healthcare). The addition of the private-room Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Hillsboro Medical Center allows mothers and their babies to stay at the same medical center and provides a private space for improved family interaction.
The family-centered NICU was designed to meet the physical and emotional needs of the infants and their families. In keeping with the family-centered design goals, Nexxspan’s evidence-based Matrixx-M was selected to provide the critically required medical gas and electrical services while minimizing the family’s visibility to these services and equipment.
The Matrixx-M vertical headwall provides multiple gas, electrical, vacuum and data capabilities near the infant along with equipment management rails and poles. By integrating Nexxspan’s equipment mounting solutions into the headwall and adjacent wall space, equipment can be placed where needed without cluttering the floor space or nearby areas. As the child continues to improve, the equipment can be removed providing much needed hope to the family
